Evaluation of loan applications deciding whether to approve an applicant for finance. Liaising with Case Managers for them to obtain personal, financial and other relevant information to the decision-making process. Underwriters assist applicants by explaining the terms of the offered loan and their repayment terms by carrying out telephone or face-to-face interviews. Underwriters then evaluate and analyse the relevant information of a loan applicant to make a final decision whether to lend money. Legal due diligence is also a key consideration. Ensure all cases and dealings with customers are carried out in a fully compliant manner, in accordance with the FCA’s Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) ethos and ensuring the FCA’s Principles of Business (PRIN) are adhered to at all times.
