We are looking for an experienced mortgage underwriter to join our rapidly growing bridging finance business.
LendInvest is the worlds largest peer-to-peer (P2P) online lending platform specifically for residential and commercial real estate mortgages. We're expanding our lending capabilities and require additional support in the underwriting team. LendInvest now has a 7 year track record of lending in the short-medium term market through our association with Montello Bridging Finance, and it is very proud of its track record of underwriting a very sound and conservative performing loan book. Personality requirements and skills
- 2+ years experience as an underwriter for a mortgage lender, ideally in the short-term/bridging market, or other specialist area of lending;
- Experience working with fraud detection systems such as SIRA, and other credit and identity related search platforms like Creditsafe and ID3 Global etc, an advantage.
The ability to:
- Work quickly and under pressure, and able to identify and get to the bottom of issues quickly;
- Make lending decisions in line with our credit and risk policy, and to identify when issues need to be escalated within our organisation for sign off;
- Work with the business development side of the business, to explain decisions in a clear and concise way, and provide regular feedback to senior management; and
- Assist senior management with assessing business risks, and suggest appropriate ways in which our credit underwriting policies should evolve to mitigate risks to the business.
